Virtually everybody in the world wants a better health for themselves. Though virtually every lifestyle is different, at the end of the day, nobody wants to be unhealthy.
So how did someone discover this Ketogenic Diet? A diet that basically consists of eating mostly fats (though good fats like Avocado), some protein, and some veggies.
It seems counter intuitive to diet by eating fat.
But the fact remains, the ketogenic diet is a popular and effective way to reduce excess body fat and improve your health - and we’ll tell you how. When followed correctly and religiously, this low carb, high –fat diet will raise blood ketone levels. Basically, since your body recognizes it’s main fuel source as fat, it’s trained to burn fat first!
As opposed to a diet full of carbs and sugar where your body burns sugar first, and stores fat for energy later. However that fat storage rarely gets burned for energy, instead your body keeps piling on the fat and suddenly, you’re 15 pounds more than you want to be.
On a ketogenic diet, your body undergoes many biological adaptations, including a reduction in insulin levels and increased fat breakdown. When this happens, the liver starts producing high numbers of ketones to supply energy to the brain.
When your body is in Ketosis, not only will it burn fat at a rapid pace, but it can make you feel less hungry and keep harmful cravings at bay.
The versatility of ketosis is an established fact. Research has shown that ketogenic diet might help to lower the risk of heart diseases, and help to improve the overall health and function of the heart. Other studies have shown that specific very-low carb diets help people with metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.
Although some people assert that these diets raise cholesterol and cause heart disease due to their high fat content, but in most scientific studies, low carb diets have proven over and over again that they are good for the body in some many ways. The danger comes when you combine the high fat diet with carbs and sugars. With Ketosis, you eliminate that possibility completely.
As of today, the Ketogenic diet is one of the most followed diets for weight-loss hopefuls and amateur athletes alike. The appeal comes from the wide variety of foods you can eat on this diet, that are forbidden in other weight loss diets. Bacon, avocado, carnitas, pork rinds, olive-oil roasted everything!
If there was an award for tastiest diet of all time, there’s no doubt that kept would take the gold.
